I have been meaning to shoot more Milwaukee night pics lately, and had the chance to grab some rooftop views with a talented young photographer. It was the opening night for Bastille Days 2015 at Cathedral Square Park in Milwaukee, so I was pretty excited to watch from above. It was a killer view and we were able to listen to the live music as the sun went down and the city lights came up.
Here are a few shots from that night. (I also grabbed a shot of the MKE sign on the way home)
As long as I can remember, I have always enjoyed watching people. I love to have a good view and watch as people go about their lives. I almost feel invisible, as if they are too busy to notice someone stationary, just observing. Lately I have been inspired by looking at street photography by famous artists, and have taken my camera out to attempt this type of work. When a few friends asked me if I wanted to hit Chicago for the day, I was excited to wander the city in a different way. I wasn’t going to hit all the tourist spots and take selfies by the landmarks. I wanted to take it slow, observe and capture a moment of daily life in the windy city.
Here is my Chicago street collection from 6-19-2015
